About the Client

The Corporation of Delta is a municipal government serving the communities of Ladner, North Delta, and Tsawwassen. Delta is located in the Lower Mainland area of Canada's British Columbia and has a population of approximately 100,000. The corporation provides health care services, educational facilities, police and fire services, recreational and leisure faculties, and a residential, industrial, agricultural and commercial land base.

Challenge

The corporation needed a template-based solution to encompass all of the functions within the Delta region in an easily accessible portal. They needed a solution that anybody within the municipality could use to manage content and deliver information to the residents and business owners that lived in Delta.

Solution

ElementCMS with its consulting partner Atomic Crayon, Ltd. Responded to the Corporation of Delta's need by evaluating their needs and requirements and concluded that the corporation can benefit significantly from a content management system. This would free up the IT staff to work on more mission critical applications and return the ability of deliver information to the people of Delta to the content experts. ElementCMS fits in to the Delta IT infrastructure well, as many of its systems are distributed across a large geographic area, having a web based content management system allows each core set of users to modify the templated data without affecting the current look and feel of the municipality.

Outcome

After an extensive consulting and a through needs assessment in partnership with Atomic Crayon, Ltd. The Corporation of Delta is in the integration process of creating a new portal for the residents and business members of this municipality.
